The Stress, Trauma and Resilience Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join a research team focused on factors related to stress, health, and resilience in Veteran and Civilian trauma survivors. This research fellowship focuses on training clinician scientists for a research career within an academic medical center. The position is focused on data processing, analysis, and publication with opportunities to formulate research questions of interest using extant datasets in a dynamic research environment.
Essential Functions:
- Interest in psychophysiological research techniques, including cardiovascular measures of stress reactivity, sleep, fear conditioning, and stress-related blood biomarkers (neuroendocrine function, immune function, metabolomics)
- Interest in stress and/or PTSD, sex differences research and/or factors affecting women’s health
- Taking the lead on study ideas using existing datasets
- Data analysis, including familiarity with psychophysiological and sleep measurement pre-processing.
- Familiarity with and/or willingness to learn data analysis tools
- Reporting findings, including writing journal articles and presenting at professional conferences.
- A portion of the fellowship will involve provision of clinical service
Non-Essential Functions:
- Mentorship of predoctoral psychology graduate students and interns
- Obtain CA state licensure (if desired)
- Professional development in an interdisciplinary academic medical center
Qualifications:
- PhD in clinical psychology or allied mental health field
- Experience with psychophysiological and/or sleep measure data processing techniques
- Experience conducting experimental and/or clinical trial studies
- Strong interpersonal and clinical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
